COMING SOON! July 2018

AUTHENTICITY: Everything that comes from our stores is created with the highest standards for quality, a respect for tradition and a love for our craft without any compromises. All of our products are made without additives or preservatives, prepared from only natural flours. We use the essence of the bread, the natural liquid leaven that gives our bread its unique texture and develops various flavors that you cannot find in industrial production.

PATIENCE : Patience is the answer. It takes a lot of time and effort to become a good baker. And it takes the same time and effort to make a great bread. At Maison Kayser, we allow at least 12 hours for all of our dough to rest before baking. The same goes for our pastries and viennoiserie. Can you believe that our pastry chef is meticulously icing each éclair by hand, one by one, every day?

CREATIVITY : Being authentic does not mean you cannot be creative. We truly believe that combining the ancestral techniques with a pinch of the most innovative standards of gastronomy can give birth to brilliant creations!

For 18 years, we have been developing original recipes in the respect of the French artisanal bakery tradition, using exotic ingredients, and maintaining our focus on our core values that set Maison Kayser apart!

“I love this place! I was really disappointed when rare sweets closed nearby but fear not, Mt Vernon Square still has bakery options!! Maison Kayser is a little on the expensive side, but delicious.”

Jenee S. Washington DC Yelper

“I had this spot bookmarked for a little while because I love French pastries and wasn’t quite sure why the overall rating is so poor but now I get it.”

Amanda M., Washington DC Yelper

“Staff is very friendly and helpful here. The prices are in line with what you’d expect from a “French” cafe in DC; the selection here is diverse and the sweets are delicious. You should sample the bread while you’re here though, you owe it to yourself to do so.”

Bobby P., Sterling VA & Washington DC Yelper

“I wanted to check it out as the interior was amazing for a bakery. Such a wonderful place! The lady near cash counter suggested “plie au chocolate” for us n it’s delicious …we also got “white chocolate viennuise” – it’s amazing …i really appreciate the lady”

Kis K., San Jose Yelper

“I am a fan of well stocked shops that are filled with beautiful looking pastries and breads and other assorted items.”

Veronique L., Washington DC Yelper

“My family & I walked our dogs over Maison Kayser on a Saturday morning for a quick brunch. As you walk in, there’s a quick order counter with fridges with pre-made sandwiches, salads, quiches, etc. There’s also a dine in area, but we opted to sit outside with the dogs.”

Kim C., Washington DC Yelper

“You can smell the delicious cheese and bread while walking down the block towards the corner. The bakery section is situated on the corner while the cafe entrance is on Massachusetts Avenue.”

Nicole O., Washington DC Yelper
